Social Login Analytics

One marketing strategy I found really interesting was a driving marketing strategy with social login analytics. This is when an online visitor logs in to your site and all their information is being captured. For example what percentage are male or female, their age, and even if they have a facebook or twitter account, etc. Here is an example of a few:

Company type:Wine Accessory e-Store
Marketing objective:Increase online sales
Analytics observations:
  • Users logging in are:
    • 70% aged 46-59 & 59+
    • 90% male
    • 25% located in Canada & 60% in USA
  • Sharing at a low rate of 10%
  • Low login rate of 20% ie only 20% of users are logging in

With this information the company may offer special offers to Canada as well as do more interaction online. They could create blogs, reviews, and other sources to create more sharing.

Company type:Online teen magazine
Marketing objective:Build loyalty
Analytics observations:
  • Top users sharing are:
    • 65% aged 13-18 & 19-25
    • 70% female
    • 90% in the USA
    • 30% share to Facebook & 30% to Twitter
  • Interests include Justin Bieber and Twilight
